Republican People's Party ( CHP ) Chairman Özgür Özel visited Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and other imprisoned party members in Silivri. Özel began the meeting at 11:00 a.m. and concluded around 4:30 p.m. Following the visit, Özel addressed the press.
THANKS TO BAHÇELİ AFTER CALL FOR "TRIALS TO BE BROADCAST ON TRT "Özel, speaking about the statements of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the live broadcast of the trials regarding corruption allegations in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on TRT, said, "This is a correct request, and thanks to the power of insistence, Turkey has come to a very good point. I thank Mr. Bahçeli. We say that we are being slandered. We said that we have complete confidence in our colleagues. If you trust your prosecutors, come and tell them all, first and foremost on TRT, and of course, on a channel that will broadcast the allegations and the answers will be heard."
"Furthermore, broadcasting on a single frequency is the most correct course of action. We want our nation to see that we are representatives of clean politics, not extortion and bribery, as claimed, and that we are self-confident. Mr. Bahçeli has supported this fairly. Until Mr. Bahçeli stated this, those who didn't hear, didn't see, and played the three monkeys in the AK Party group and on their ranks said they would support this," he said.
